What it does:
A disruptive new crowdsourcing platform called eBounties has launched in the United States, Canada, the UK and Australia. eBounties allows users to tap into the collective knowledge of the crowd to find (just about) anything. Users can post specific criteria to find exactly what they want, and offer financial rewards for successful finds. Other users browsing the site can claim a bounty in two ways: by providing the exact knowledge, service, item or connection that a buyer is looking for; or by connecting the buyer with someone who has it.
How it beats the competition:
Unlike seller-focused marketplaces like Craigslist and Kijiji, eBounties is a buyer-centric site. These rewards, or bounties, are all pre-approved through PayPal to confirm that the money is available. It is free to post a bounty and users only pay for results; for example, a company seeking the right employee could choose to pay the bounty only after a successful hire.
